HOW IT WORKS

In order to connect Google Drive, you need to follow these steps:

1. Create a new connection WITH Google Drive

Open your Layer2 File Pal and click NEW CONNECTION.

2. Give Your connection a Name and choose Google Drive

Choose your first system (Google Drive, on the left side of your screen). You can enable/disable background synchronization and deletions here (top right). If it is activated, files deleted on one side will also be deleted on the other side.

3. start the Google Drive connect process

The system configuration view for Google Drive indicates that you have not yet established the connection to Google Drive. Click Connect to start the connect process.

4. Log in to Google

Step 3 opens a browser window asking you to log in to Google. Enter your information.

5. After you selected an account, you are provided with the following warning.

The reason for this warning is that the Layer2 File Pal app has not yet been verified by Google. It is an expensive process that we have chosen to postpone for now. If you click Advanced, an additional section is shown which allows to go forward to the Layer2 File Pal consent dialog. Click Go to Layer2 File Pal (unsafe) and the consent dialog will open.

6. A checkbox Is shown

Please ensure to check the checkbox (marked green below) to allow access to your Google Drive. Click Continue to complete the process and you will receive a message that the browser tab can be closed.

7. Connection attempt was successful

In Layer2 File Pal you should now see the confirmation, that the connect attempt succeeded.

8. CHOOSE YOUR SECOND SYSTEM

On the right side of your screen you can choose the system you want to sync to Google Drive. Pick and configure the system and click DONE. Here is your connection!
